Interested in medicine? Join the Youth Medical Association!
The Youth Medical Association (YMA) is a new organization that aims to create a community of Bay Area high school students who are interested in medicine. Monthly meetings, which will take place over Zoom for at least the first semester, will expand members’ knowledge of the medical field via keynote speakers, mock medical cases and journal discussions.
Though the coronavirus pandemic has limited our ability to pursue the hands-on activities we would usually take part in, we hope to make YMA over Zoom exciting with the help of our speakers and student leaders. As the social distancing restrictions start to get lifted, YMA members will tour the medical facilities of Bay Area institutions, do hands-on emergency medicine activities, and get information about medical summer internship opportunities.
