How to Shop More and Spend Less

If you’re like me, spending the majority of your free time watching Netflix and simultaneously online shopping, sales are your new best friend. Especially when buying trendy pieces, I prefer to shop for more affordable pieces, and invest in more classic styles that will last a long time. Here are the best places to find the hottest trends for the best prices.

Sales: Everytime I go shopping, I always make sure to look in the sales section. This may seem obvious, but oftentimes stores have additional discounts off their original sale price.

Saks off 5th: If you ever want designer pieces for a discount, Saks off 5th is the place to go. With a range of discounted brands from Free People, to L space, to Dolce and Gabbana to Valentino, they have a wide variety of clothes, swimsuits, and accessories that are steeply discounted. Most pieces are from last season, but the trends usually sell out, you most clothes available are pretty neutral in style. I’ve found that this is a good place to find items like swimsuits and basics like graphic tees.

Amazon: When I think of shopping, amazon is not usually the first place that comes to mind. However, they have begun incorporating more brands into their AmazonFashion section of the site, and you can now buy clothes, swimwear, and shoes from a variety of brands.

Thrifting: While in quarantine, unfortunately it is not possible to go to a physical thrift store. However there are several alternatives. Firstly, you can buy second hand clothing from several online stores like ThredUp, Poshmark, or Depop. Another, and easier alternative is on Instagram. Lots of people sell their old clothes on Instagram, and most will deliver directly to your house.
