The Sacred Heart Men’s Varsity Soccer team is off to an incredible start to the season. The team ended the preseason with a record of 5-0-1 with an additional 3 regular season wins Top preseason games were against Prospect with the final score of 4-0 and against Archbishop Riordan with the final score of 10-0.

The men’s varsity team is going into league with very high expectations. So far, these expectations have been met with a 9-0 win against Woodside Priory, a massive 5-0 win against Menlo, and recently a blowout against Eastside where they won 7-0. One of the team’s leading scorers, Kyle Nilsson, describes his success in the attacking third, stating, “A lot of my goals come from a team effort – most of the credit goes to my fellow teammates who develop the play and then I simply tap the ball into the goal. I think this is what makes our offense so effective – everyone works together to get a result.”

The Gators have high expectations for league and are aiming to make it further than any other SHP Men’s Varsity Soccer Team in the playoffs. Big upcoming home games include Menlo tonight, finally Eastside on the 5th. Come out to support the Men’s Varsity Soccer Team as they capitalize on their momentum in league and begin CCS in February.
