Testament to the Girls Volleyball Seniors

  • Claire Degois Sainz ’22

As the girls varsity volleyball team has wrapped up their season and finished CCS playoffs, it is important to recognize the seniors on the team that have played a huge part in the team’s success. This year’s four seniors are DS/Libero Evie Sutton, DS Leia Bonifacio, pin hitter Reagan Smith, and powerhouse outside hitter Elena Radeff. Out of this talented group, two Gators will be continuing their volleyball careers at Division 1 college programs.

Elena Radeff will be joining the Broncos at Santa Clara University, and Reagan Smith will be sporting a jersey at Brown. The girls’ volleyball Senior Night game against Notre Dame was an opportunity to celebrate these girls’ many contributions to the team. There was a huge Gator fan turnout and tremendous support from the stands as each senior, and their family, came out onto the court. The team fought hard against Notre Dame Belmont and truly showcased their growth and improvement along the course of the season.

They took the first two sets, but just lost the third and fourth. In the fifth set, the teams we’re neck and neck, until Notre Dame won 17-15. Truly a close and exciting game. The Gators won their first two games in the CCS playoffs, and made it to the finals. They finished an impressive 2nd place in CCS, just behind Harker. We congratulate the Gators on a stellar season, and celebrate the seniors as they move on to bigger things.
